PILE CLOTH DISK FILTER

Pile Cloth Disk Filter

Adroit is involved in design and manufacturing of advanced equipment for water and wastewater treatment. With commitment to delivering innovative, long lasting and efficient technologies, Adroit specializes water & wastewater treatment solutions tailored to meet the needs of municipal & industrial clients.

Application

Gdisk® Pile Cloth Filters is a versatile and highly efficient filtration system that utilise woven cloth for removal of suspended solids, turbidity and associated biological oxygen demand (BOD) & chemical oxygen demand (COD). It can also improve total

phosphorus and coagulant removal (typically iron or aluminium).

GDisk® Pile Cloth Disk Filter is a fully submerged, gravity-driven filtration system for removal of suspended solids (SS), turbidity, algae, and associated BOD & COD.

Its advanced filtration capabilities make it an ideal solution for various stages of water treatment processes. Whether it’s for drinking water primary treatment, wastewater reuse, or industrial process water, the GDisk® ensures consistent, high-quality output while minimizing operational costs.

Operation

  1. Filtration: Water flows through the media, the pile cloth by gravity, where suspended solids are trapped on the surface. The filtered water passes through the inside of center tube and is discharged.
  2. Backwashing: Operated by a level switch or timer, the backwashing is performed using low-pressure suction on both side of the pile cloth disk.  The system designed continuous filteration even during backwash.
  3. Sludge Discharge: Accumulated sludge at the bottom is discharged automatically, maintaining optimal filtration efficiency.

The system is 100% submerged ensures maximum utilization of the filtration area, while the gravity flow mechanism reduces energy consumption. The GDisk® is equipped with automatic backwash system that is operated by level sensors or timers, ensuring hassle-free operation and minimal intervention.

Applications Area

  • Drinking Water Treatment: GDisk® can be used a primary clarifier in a Water Treatment Plant (WTP). PCDFs have a smaller footprint, making them ideal for retrofitting existing plants or use in urban areas with space constraints. It removes algae, turbidity, and suspended solids from reservoirs, lakes, and rivers waters.
  • Wastewater Treatment: Ideal for tertiary treatment after biological process, removing SS, BOD and total phosphorus(T-P).
  • Cooling water for power plant: Removes suspended solids (SS) from power plant cooling water enhancing system efficiency, protecting equipment, and improving overall stability.
  • Reuse Water Treatment: GDISK® is US CA Tittle 22 certified for waste reuse for non drinking purpose. California Title 22 sets the regulatory framework for water reuse. It defines the treatment processes and water quality standards required for treated water to be used in non-potable applications.
  • Phosphorus removal: CHEMDISK® (Chemical Process + GDISK®) reduces effluent phosphorus preventing eutrophication & improving receiving waters
  • Algae Removal: Effectively filters algae from surface water sources, improving overall water quality.

With installations in over 270 sites worldwide, including the UK, USA, UAE, and Southeast Asia, the GDisk® proven reliability and efficiency across diverse applications.

Features

  • High Filtration Efficiency: Removes suspended solids (SS) up to < 2 mg/l, turbidity, and algae and associates reduces BOD & COD with 30%-40 efficiency.
  • Low Energy Consumption: Gravity-driven filtration and low-pressure backwashing operating on level sensers or time intervals reduce power consumption.
  • Durable Media: Engineered for durability, made with high-quality polyester pile cloth guarantees long-lasting performance. The media in regular conditions should last more than five years.
  • Automatic Operation: Fully automated system with level sensors and timers for continous operation.
  • Compact Design: Pile cloth disk filter is a conpact filteration unit with very low footprint compared to conventional filtration systems.
  • Easy Maintenance: Modular design allows for quick and easy removal of pile cloth media with unbolting two nut bolts for pressure washing operation required once a year and replacement of filter media required once in five years.

What is the GDISK Pile Cloth Disk Filter?

The GDISK Pile Cloth Disk Filter is compact filtration designed for removal of suspended solids and reduction of BOD & COD. It uses pile cloth media to capture fine particles, ensuring fine water filtration in industrial and municipal applications.

The filtration capacity varies based on the model and application, but it can handle a wide range of flow rates from small-scale to large-scale.

Our team will help you select the right GDisk model based on the flow rate, particle load, and specific filtration requirements. Contact us for a further consultation.

The GDISK filter has an automated backwashing system, minimizing maintenance in regular use. Routine inspections and occasional servicing of mechanical components will ensure optimal performance. It is recommended to pressure wash the pile cloth disks with tap water once a year which can be easily detached from the filtration unit. The pile cloth is engineered for long life, and only requires replacement after five years.

Delivery time may vary based on specifications and quantity. Typically, Disk Filter orders are manufactured within 8-10 weeks from manufacturing clearance.

Adroit provides comprehensive support from installation of this equipment at your site to after-sales service, including maintenance support, spare parts, and technical assistance.

Disk Filters are used for Tertiary treatment, Primary treatment in water treatment Phosphorus Removal & Water Reuse.
